As LifeHacker says it, Twitter is a service people love to hate (and secretly use)! So apt!
It’s an extremely simple concept! In the twilight of all the social networking sites, here’s one more which lets the world (or your friends) know what are you doing at any given point in time :)
It can link up to your mobile phone or your instant messaging system where even if you’re traveling, all you have to do is send an sms to the Twitter phone number and it is posted on your page on Twitter.
I signed up and invited Aalaap, Milind, Sattu, Gagan and the gang. Also was chatting to Urvi at that time and invited her too…
I activated the mobile version, of course as I thought it’s only purpose is to send messages to the Twitter service. A few hours later I was on the bus and I get an sms… Aalaap must have “Twitted” (lol that sounds funny!) and I got his “Twit” (ha! that’s even funnier)!
Nevertheless I was really impressed – that means it lets you know what you’re friends are upto directly on the phone… no need to log on to Twitter and update yourself :)

I did register on twitter too, but the sad part is that if i need to update via text, I need to send the message to an UK number, which will costs me 5 bucks per message,
I guess there are looking into ways of getting this as a local number. Once they do this, i guess it should be fun then ;)
