I got this forward today in my inbox – now most of the times I tend to simply trash any forwards that come my way without reading it, but considering that I pretty much didn’t have anything to do at work, I went ahead and read it.
Just one of those number twisters which will leave you wondering WTF?!
Have a go:
Don’t tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may know already!
YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH
It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out!
- First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to
go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10)- Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
- Add 5
- Multiply it by 50
- If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758… If you haven’t, add 1757.
- Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many times
you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)The next two numbers are… YOUR AGE ! —— (Oh YES, it is!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS!

Crazy !!!
LOL yeah. I keep getting such forwards – never bother trying them – I suck at math lol
yeah… i think the “no. of times you would like to go out for dinner number” is just a distraction!
Not true that it would work only in 2008. I tried with 2007, and still holds true.
It doesn’t dude… ok Presume that today is 1st of jan 2007 – now do the whole thing!
*Damn we really don’t have much to do at work do we?*
LOL!
Presumed that today is 1st Jan 07.
1. I like dining out 5 times (Not really though)
2. Multiply by 2, gives 10.
3. Adding 5 gives 15.
4. Multiply by 50 gives 750.
5. I havent yet had my birthday, so add 1757, gives 2507
6. Subtract 1981 (year of birth), gives 526
Now 5 is the no of times I chose earlier, and my age is 26. I would be 27 next day :-D
So it does work :-)
Holy shit batman!
It does work!
this blog is simple gr8
very fun and cool
i like the about page.
keep it up
Thank you Ajay :)
Next year you can just add 1 to the numbers in 5! gives you the same result.
Hahah thanks @Imogen :)
