peekvid – Another aspiring video site

PeekVidI’m an ardent TV-Shows fan. Some of my favourites, to name a few, have been Smallville, Charmed, That 70′s Show, and these days Heroes

I did a random google search for TV Shows, hoping to find a site which basically shows up listing of all popular TV Shows and what they are about (Of course there’s www.tv.com).

One of the top results was PeekVid.

As the site states:

Peekvid does not contain any content on its site, but is merely an index of available links on the Internet. Peekvid is committed to an industry solution that will provide a mechanism to compensate artists that create the work you enjoy watching. Peekvid would like to be part of the long term solution.

I found heaps of ‘Smallville’ Episodes on it (Episode 6 shows), but unfortunately only found 1 of ‘That 70′s Show’.

The site seems to be relatively new, so I guess they’ll populate it more shows over time.

So for anyone, who wants to catch a glimps of an episode they’ve missed, enter PeekVid!

P.S. – Of course there’s always YouTube;)

Gibson’s Apocalypto

Mel Gibson’s ApocalyptoApocalypto: Greek verb meaning “I reveal”…usually translated as “Revelations.”

I saw Apocalypto this evening… Having no previous notions about the movie, not have read any reviews whatsoever, I was compelled to watch it only because it was Mel Gibson’s movie.

Visually, the film is truly well crafted and I’m sure it would have been quite stunning on the big screen.

Dramatically, it portrays the classic prototypical heroic tale of the winning man in the end. Yes, it does have some gore violence but again that was essential to the core elevation of the tale being told.

I’m not going to write down what it is about as I wouldn’t want to ruin it for those who wish to watch it.

If you’re the type who likes movies about loyalty, duty, honour to your own kind, you very well will like this.

Gibson’s style of telling a story has always been a bit eloquent. Like Passion of the Christ, and Braveheart, he once again artistically paints a gripping picture and ensures that you are hooked right to the core – and as the movie ends, you are left in awe, with an all controlling feeling of power, yet a subtle understanding of how imperceptible one is!

Apple’s rhetorical response to Vista?

I was watching tv the other day and I saw Microsoft VISTA’s promotional tv-ad. With all the hype of VISTA and the way MS is promoting it around, I was expecting a real strong ad campaign… but it was quite, un-interesting – you know, nothing that will URGE you to find out more about VISTA.

A few ads later, in the same segment, a Mac promo ad showed up, with pretty much a direct, obvious hint towards VISTA!

I was so stunned with that ad, I immediately jumped on YouTube and searched for it coz I wanted to see it over and over again!

All I have to say is, “Excellent comeback Apple!”

Here’s the ad:
